Handheld Computer Museum

...i sold it in 7th grade and when i met my bestfriend sophmore year of high school it somehow ended up in his possesion same knicks and scratches haha

I remember saving up for months when I was in highschool to get one of these. 3 of my friends and I rushed to Best Buy after school on launch day and spent the next several hours loading them up with music and sharing stuff with each other wirelessly. Such good memories!

I moved up from LA to Santa Cruz in '88. I got in the habit of not wearing shoes; nobody cared at work, or around the city. Flash forward to having moved to San Jose, working at Apple, but still keeping the same habits. One night, my partner and I were killing some time (waiting for a food order to be ready), so we parked and went into the nearby Staples. Looked at chairs, desks, phones.

We paused to look at the Zune display -- being at Apple we both had iPods and weren't going to get one, but we *did* pay attention to the reviews, and they were all hilarious to us. And then this guy came by, seeing me without shoes, cheap tshirt, well-worn jeans, and he decided to tell me that if I saved up, I might be able to afford one some day.

My partner and I looked at each other, near bursting into laughter, and I commented, "I have this sudden urge to go outside and sit in my bmw z3 for a while and contemplate my life choices."
